Gayatri Teerth, Shantikunj is the best place to go and do the shradh-tarpan-pind-daan for those who passed. The Ashram founded by Yugrishi Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya, is situated in Haridwar.
It is built on the same land upon which Rishi Vishwamitra meditated and did tapasya of Gayatri Mantra. Shantikunj has been resounding with divine vibrations and chants of the Gayatri Mantra since Vedic times.
It has a spiritually charged atmosphere. One can go there and do the shradh-tarpan and pind daan for the departed and then go and do the asthi visarjan in the Ganges.
The best thing about Shantikunj is that no demands of money are made. So family members are not harassed for money. One donates whatever one wishes, so ashram continues its operations.
