But this is a very wrong conception of the guru that we carry in our minds.
As Swami Vivekananda’s life experience shows, merely imbibing intellectual knowledge is not enough to progress spiritually.
Something MUCH MORE PROFOUND is needed. Material knowledge such as that taught in the sciences can be grasped intellectually.
But SPIRITUAL KNOWLEDGE is only gained through direct experience.
It is this direct experience that the guru bestows upon the disciple through the transmission of prana, during Shaktipath & Kundalini Awakening.
