At one time, Swami Vivekananda found the ideas of Advaita Vedanta positively blasphemous!
He spared no opportunity to ridicule the philosophy in front of Sri Ramakrishna.
“The authors of these Advaita Vedanta texts must be mad,” he said. “How else could they say that God is present in the jug, cup, plate, in me and in others? God the Creator has made the whole Creation. Then how can He Himself become the cup and the plate?”
Faced with this open challenge to his authority, what did Sri Ramakrishna do?
Did he vehemently try to prove that he was right?
No.
He merely smiled and touched Swami Vivekananda.
At that divine touch, a current of prana-shakti entered Swamiji’s body and his worldview transformed! He was forced to admit that what Advaita Vedanta claimed about God being present everywhere and in all things was true!
What was the magical spiritual experience that Sri Ramakrishna bestowed upon Swami Vivekananda? The detailed answer is presented in this video.
