Drawbacks of Having a Guru in the Physical Body—The 2 Bodies of Swami Vivekananda
Most of us desire a guru in the physical body who can talk to us, resolve our doubts, and guide us. But is this desire the best for our spiritual development? Swami Vivekananda had spent only 5 years under the discipleship of Sri Ramakrishna when his guru entered Mahasamadhi.
Swamiji was only 23 years old at that time. Did Swami Vivekananda stop receiving guidance from Sri Ramakrishna? Did his bond with his guru terminate? It did not. Swamiji continued to receive guidance, as before.
So which body of Sri Ramakrishna did Swamiji establish an unshakable connection with? What specific spiritual practice must we do to receive the direct guidance of great masters from beyond?
